Southern California – brief introduction

After spending about 2 weeks in Utah and 3 nights in Nevada we headed to southern California where we spent 10 days. I had been looking forward to this part of the trip more than others – the beach and the sun! Our original plan was to spend about a month here. Now that I am sitting in Texas in sub freezing temps, I kinda wish we had spent a month in California =)

We stayed in Visa CA, which is 20 minutes from Carlsbad, Lego Land, multiple beaches  and 1 hour from both LA and San Diego – it was the perfect staging point. The cost wasn’t quite as high as Denver (which surprised us, Denver was the the most expensive place for us to stay, until we went to palm desert). Staying in Vista was also significantly less expensive than anything in Carlsbad that was available.

Over the course of the next week we will cover these stops and locations.  Stay tuned!
